In the time of Vikings, when raids plague the shores of the British Isles and fear fills the hearts of the people, the Far Side of the Sea books follow the path of two boys. Finn, a Viking thrall, longs for the freedom he's never known and the family he was stolen from. Malachy, a young boy raised by monks, has lived a life of peace on the remote island monastery of Inishmurray, until one day that peace is threatened.
As their worlds collide, they must learn what it means to be brave, to trust in the Lord, and to follow where he leads, even if it leads them straight into danger. Far Side of the Sea will sweep middle-grade readers over raging seas and ancient lands, inviting them into a tale of faith, bravery, forgiveness, sacrifice, and family.

The Far Side of the Sea books are level 7/8 original publications meant for middle grade students who have passed the level 7/8 assessment on the reading placement test. It is recommended they be read in order.
